Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Full-Time Preferred | Part-Time Considered | $44.75–$56.25/hour

Great Pediatric Therapy Takes More Than Treatment Time

Seattle Therapy – Skills for Life® is looking for an exceptional Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our collaborative outpatient therapy team.

Our work is guided by the belief, hope begins with feeling understood®.

One important difference about working at Seattle Therapy – Skills for Life: your hourly rate applies to all hours worked—not only direct patient-care visits.

Our therapists are paid for their scheduled work time, including patient care, documentation, treatment preparation, collaboration, meetings, communication, and other responsibilities of the position. For full-time employees, that means the stability of a consistent paid work schedule rather than a paycheck dependent solely on completed therapy visits.

We believe excellent pediatric therapy requires time to think, prepare, collaborate, document, and connect with families—and those are all meaningful parts of the job.

Why Therapists Choose Seattle Therapy – Skills for Life

At Seattle Therapy – Skills for Life®, you’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Work in an expansive 11,000-square-foot pediatric therapy clinic with extensive treatment spaces, equipment, and clinical resources.
  • Receive consistent hourly compensation for all hours worked, including dedicated time for documentation, preparation, collaboration, and other clinical responsibilities.
  • Work primarily with children and young adults in a specialized pediatric practice.
  • Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and feeding therapists.
  • Provide individualized, evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming, family-centered care.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with clients and families through our wraparound model of care.
  • Provide services in the clinic and, when clinically appropriate, in home, school, and community settings.
  • Continue developing professionally through mentorship, collaboration, continuing education, and advanced clinical opportunities.
  • Work within a practice that values both excellent patient care and a sustainable professional life.

The Occupational Therapist We're Looking For

You are an OT who genuinely enjoys working with children and families.

You combine strong clinical reasoning with warmth, creativity, curiosity, and professionalism. You value evidence-based practice while recognizing that every child and family is different.

You enjoy being part of a team. You communicate well, follow through on responsibilities, contribute ideas, and appreciate working alongside colleagues who are equally invested in providing excellent care.

You also recognize that great therapy extends beyond the treatment session. Documentation, preparation, caregiver communication, collaboration, and coordination are all important parts of providing comprehensive care.

What You'll Do

As an STS Occupational Therapist, you will:
  • Complete comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and reevaluations.
  • Develop individualized recommendations, treatment plans, and functional goals.
  • Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services supporting meaningful outcomes for children, young adults, and their families.
  • Apply strong clinical reasoning to treatment planning and modification of intervention approaches.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, STS clinicians, schools, physicians, and other community providers as appropriate.
  • Provide services across clinic, virtual, home, school, and community settings when clinically indicated.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, clinical collaboration, and professional development.
  • Contribute to the collaborative, thoughtful, and solution-oriented culture of STS.

  • NBCOT certification
  • Commitment to evidence-based, individualized, family-centered pediatric care
  • Strong professional communication and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Pediatric occupational therapy experience
  • Experience with outpatient pediatrics, sensory processing, self-regulation, executive functioning, motor development, activities of daily living, or related pediatric practice areas
  • Experience collaborating with families, schools, and interdisciplinary teams
Experienced pediatric therapists are encouraged to apply, and we also welcome strong candidates whose fieldwork, training, or related experience has prepared them for pediatric practice.

Working Conditions, Physical Demands & Travel

  • Work is primarily performed in an outpatient pediatric clinic, with occasional travel to home, school, or community settings as clinically appropriate.
  • The position requires the ability to move throughout a pediatric treatment environment, including transitioning between standing and floor-level positions, sitting, crawling, bending, reaching, and carrying materials or equipment.
  • The position may require occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use common office and clinical equipment.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the position.

Compensation

$44.75–$56.25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Compare the Whole Compensation Model

When comparing outpatient therapy positions, the advertised hourly rate doesn’t always tell the whole story.

At STS, employees are paid for all hours worked—not only completed patient visits. Paid work time includes direct patient care as well as documentation, treatment planning and preparation, caregiver and provider communication, clinical collaboration, meetings, and training.

For a full-time therapist, this provides the stability of a consistent paid work schedule and a more predictable paycheck than visit-based compensation models.

Benefits

Benefits for eligible employees include:

  • Paid time off
  • Six paid holidays
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k)
  • Continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Paid documentation and preparation time
  • Mentorship and clinical collaboration
  • Extensive pediatric treatment resources and equipment

Specific benefit eligibility varies by employment status and scheduled hours.
